Rodha
Rodha is a free 2D jumping game you can play right in your browser. You hop a little ball left and right through 60 levels packed with spikes, saws, cannons, and other things that want to end your run.
Each level is short, but the speed is the catch. Pause for a beat and a moving saw or a vanishing platform will end you before you react. The good news: checkpoints send you back close to where you fell instead of all the way to the start.
What is Rodha?
Rodha is a casual platformer where you control a ball and jump diagonally toward a portal at the end of each stage. The loop is simple to describe and hard to execute. Read the gap, time the jump, clear the obstacle, repeat. Levels mix walls, spikes, pits, swinging saws, and cannons that fire across your path, and the difficulty climbs as you go. There are 60 stages in all, built by Liminal Creations.
How to play
You only ever move by jumping. There is no walking, so every input is a hop left or right.
Desktop controls
- A or the left arrow key jumps to the left
- D or the right arrow key jumps to the right
- Tap the same direction twice for a double jump
Mobile controls
On a touchscreen you tap the left or right side to jump that way, and a quick double tap gives you the double jump. The game also has phone versions, so the touch handling is built in rather than bolted on.
Reading the level
Some platforms are thin and disappear a moment after you land, so treat them as a stepping stone and keep moving. Checkpoints look like flags placed through the stage. Pass one and it is yours, which means a fall drops you back at that flag instead of the level start. If you die you can respawn at your last checkpoint, so a tough section is about repetition, not punishment.
Stars, coins, and skins
Certain levels hide stars. Collecting them is how you open up new looks for your ball back in the main menu, so it is worth a small detour to grab one when you spot it.
Coins are scattered across your runs too. You spend them in the shop on 9 character skins that cost between 50 and 250 coins each. None of it changes how you play, but it gives you a reason to replay levels and chase the pickups you missed.
Tips for clearing levels
- Keep moving on thin platforms. They vanish fast, so never stand still on one.
- Learn the rhythm of a level before you try to rush it. Most deaths come from jumping a fraction too early or too late.
- Use the double jump to adjust mid-air when a single hop falls short of a ledge.
- Run past every checkpoint flag you can, even if it is a slight detour. It saves you a long redo later.
- Grab stars on a relaxed run, then go for speed once you know the layout.
What makes it hard
The challenge is timing under pressure. The ball moves quickly and the obstacles are unforgiving, so a single late jump usually means a restart from the last flag. Early on you fight the controls as much as the level. Once the jump timing starts to feel automatic, levels you were stuck on for minutes go down in one clean attempt.
